George Roy Hill was a film director who directed the 1977 film Slap Shot.


Personal lifeEdit

Hill was born in Minnesota and served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II.

Film careerEdit

He later got into film and directed a number of films in the 1960's, `70's and `80's. He also won an Academy Award for directing The Sting.

Hill worked with actor Paul Newman on three films: Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, The Sting and Slap Shot.
